Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice California (CLUE CA) is a federation of grassroots, faith-based organizations located in San Diego, Orange County, Inland Empire, Los Angeles, San Jose, San Francisco and Oakland. These six federations work among Muslim, Jewish and Christian communities to advance economic justice for low wage workers; protect civil liberties for immigrants; advocate for quality public education; promote affordable and accessible health care, and advance civic engagements to achieve moral public budgets on behalf of taxpayers and residents throughout the state of California.
We partner with an array of groups to reach and train low wage workers so they can become their own advocates for higher wages, benefits, and safer work conditions. CLUE CA has developed new models of community building that reflects the values and goals of the civil rights movements, farm workers union and ancient faith traditions.
We encourage faith leaders to contribute their unique gifts to larger movements for social and economic justice. Drawing upon the unique resources of faith traditions, CLUE-CA provides a moral framework for the economic debate, empowers workers, and engages clergy and congregations in economic justice campaigns.
